The Strait of Gibraltar is the set of The Sheep and the Whale. This
play explores the chasms between memory and feelings, North and South.
I chose a beautiful excerpt from the play to better convey the concept:
ěThen, they take
out the young mans heart, bury it in the sand and say, Now,
Leave your heart in the South and go find your memory in the North.
Thats why I cant stay in the South, because I wont
have a memory and I cant stay in the North because I wont
have a heart and I have no other choice but to go North to get my
memory and go back South to get my heart. Thats why, here, halfway
between North and South, Im more fragile than a spider web,
because I dont have either a heart or a memory..."
